We thoroughly enjoyed preparing/cooking numerous dishes and picking up on hints/tips along the way.   If you are in Chenia, this cooking class is a must do! Veerna and her brother Kostas are incredibly kind, welcoming, and funny, and they created such a warm and... read more positive feel throughout the experience. The class takes place on Kostas’s beautiful property with an olive grove, and many of the ingredients we used in the class were grown on his or their mother’s property, which made the experience even more special. The food we made was delicious and we had so much fun sitting down to eat the giant meal we prepared together. Veerna and Kostas shared family stories with us and we felt so comfortable and welcomed by them, and it was very interesting to learn firsthand about the local culture - we never would have gotten that experience in a museum or restaurant in town. My wife is a vegetarian and they were easily able to accommodate her preferences. Overall, this was one of the best parts of our two week trip to Greece and we highly recommend this to anyone visiting Chenia.

It feels like you are spending time with friends and learning about authentic Crete culture and food. They are both warm, lovely people and the food is incredible.
You finish the class eating dinner together, drinking wine and sharing stories. It was a unique experience I encourage everyone to try!

Verna and Costa made us feel welcomed the minute we arrived. Her... read more son provided clear arrival instructions and quick responses to questions after booking. The class was informative, set to a relaxing but progressive pace. The setting was gorgeous at the families olive farm. Recipes were accompanied with interesting cultural references and easy to understand for our diverse group. The food was absolutely delicious, all vegetables grown in the families garden along with locally sourced ingredients. We enjoyed ending the evening with our home cooked family meal and easy conversation with both the group and our hosts. Highly recommend for a unique, bonding Greek experience.
