Cooking class in Chania

And the food was some of the best Greek food we’d had on the island. People come from all over the world to take this class, and we felt lucky to be one of them.

It was an exceptionally warm day so we prepared the food indoors and ate outside once it cooled down. Veernas and Kostas were very caring and attentive; they made sure that everyone was looked after and felt comfortable.

  If you are in Chenia, this cooking class is a must do! Veerna and her brother Kostas are incredibly kind, welcoming, and funny, and they created such a warm and... read more positive feel throughout the experience. The class takes place on Kostas’s beautiful property with an olive grove, and many of the ingredients we used in the class were grown on his or their mother’s property, which made the experience even more special. The food we made was delicious and we had so much fun sitting down to eat the giant meal we prepared together. Veerna and Kostas shared family stories with us and we felt so comfortable and welcomed by them, and it was very interesting to learn firsthand about the local culture - we never would have gotten that experience in a museum or restaurant in town. My wife is a vegetarian and they were easily able to accommodate her preferences. Overall, this was one of the best parts of our two week trip to Greece and we highly recommend this to anyone visiting Chenia.
